I've been here a few times. The food has always been freshly prepared. This time I got the scallops and fried shrimp. The scallops were tender and the shrimp were plump. The service is why I am reviewing. The staff were pleasant and helpful. One even came out from behind the register to take assist a disabled lady with her older. Excellent customer service and really good food are wins for me.

Great food and prompt smiling faces! Every time I call and place my order it's fresh delicious and on time and did I mention they smile when they hand your food and say thank you. I will return every time I want a good basket of shrimp is always delicious Just add it's always really nice to see someone who really enjoys doing what they're doing. We all need restaurants with people that are courteous and prompt.

Love this place. Skrimp tacos are my favorite here. Love the mild and spicy sauce they have. Sandwiches are great. A little pricey for drinks and sides but overall, the food is consistently good and they get it to you quickly. No complaints really!

Stopped in here by chance while driving through the area. Don't let the location deter you! Location is desolate next to a Roses and dialysis center but the positive reviews brought me in. Glad we gave it a shot. I had the fish tacos (2) with fried flounder and mild sauce on the side. It exceeded my expectations. Freshly made and piping hot fish. My husband had the Skrimp Taco with hot sauce. Spice was good and shrimp was abundant. Bonus: they make some gooooood sweet tea! Restaurant was impressively clean and the bathrooms were spotless. ***I'd love for you to open a location in Wards Corner of NORFOLK!!!***

We've been planning to visit Skrimp Shack for months now. We are a big fan of seafood especially shrimp and crabs. Also, we heard a lot of good things about this establishment so we finally decided to give this place a try. Skrimp Shack is located in a strip mall in Airline Blvd., Portsmouth and is in between Roses and a medical clinic. The decoration of the restaurant is what stands from this place. I enjoyed reading the bible verses and quotes that are hanged on the wall. However, the tables, chairs and floors are a little unkept. We also noticed that the tables are a little sticky. When it comes to food, we both ordered the crab and skrimp po boy with sweet potato fries. When asked if I wanted mild or hot for the po boy sauce, I ordered the hot po boy sauce. The po boy was really delicious. Make sure your napkins ready because it could get a little messy because of the crab meat. The portioning is huge and it will definitely fill you up. The only thing I was disappointed about is that the po boy wasn't spicy at all. You can't even consider it mild as well. Also, I feel like there's not enough sauce in my sandwich and I am not willing to pay more for an extra sauce. For the price, we noticed that it is a little bit pricey when you decide to get a combo or if you substitute your side. If you don't want to pay extra to get a combo, I recommend picking a meal on the menu that already includes soda and fries. Other than that, we think that the price is reasonable for a seafood place. We enjoyed our meal so much that we are already planning our next plan to this establishment. Skrimp Shack is definitely one of the places that should be on your list if you are visiting Portsmouth. If you are also a seafood lover, this place can be your new hangout restaurant.
